When Mountains Whispered Back
After decades of success, awards, and global recognition, Samir Foz felt the weight of silence again. In search of peace, he moved with his wife Layla to the hills of Dharamshala, India.
There, surrounded by monks, rain clouds, and the sound of prayer flags, he began writing When Mountains Whisper Back — a book about stillness, healing, and rediscovering faith.
The poems reflected his gratitude toward life — his family, his homeland, and the readers who carried his words. The collection won the Harmony of Humanity Award (2021) and was later adapted into a stage performance combining poetry, music, and painting.
Samir once said in an interview, “At this stage of my life, I no longer chase awards. I chase silence — because in silence, poetry is born again.”
Now in his mid-fifties, he continues to teach, mentor, and write, proving that the true poet never retires — he simply learns to listen more deeply to the world around him.
